The Leading Committee consists of experienced members of Beyn Theatre Group who have participated in and contributed to several projects throughout the group's history. Through years of artistic practice, they have developed a deep familiarity with the concepts, framework, and collaborative approach that shape Beyn's understanding of theatre making.
The committee is responsible for guiding the group's activities and ensuring the continuity of its practice. Its responsibilities include

developing artistic guidelines, organizing workshops and research activities, initiating and overseeing projects, selecting texts, and determining the collaborators involved in each production. More broadly, the committee serves as a space for reflection and decision-making concerning the continuing development of the group's methods and artistic direction.

Shahab Agahi and Mohammad Majd Taheri




Shahab Agahi is a theatre director and founder of Beyn Theater Group, one of Tehran's most distinctive independent theatre companies. His practice is rooted in intensive physical and vocal training, shaped by his time with Gardzienice in Poland and influences drawn from Grotowski and Odin Teatret, and consistently explores the musicality of performance, collective modes of creation, and the relationship between actor, space, and sound. Since founding Beyn Theater Group in 2010, he has directed productions including Medea, When We Dead Awaken, Prometheus/Plague, and My Macbeth, presented widely in Iran and abroad, including at the Fajr International Theatre Festival, the Grotowski Institute, and the Babel Festival, where Medea won Best Stage Production.

Mohammad Majd Taheri is an actor, director, and senior member of Beyn Theater Group, working within its core ensemble since 2013. He joined the group in 2013 during the early phase of When We Dead Awaken and has since become one of its longest-standing performers within ensemble. Over more than a decade of intensive rehearsals, performances, and training processes, he developed Beyn’s performance language practice framework. Alongside his performance work, he has directed two acclaimed productions that expanded Beyn’s presence in Tehran’s contemporary theatre scene and beyond presented in workshops, international collaborations, and training contexts associated with the group’s pedagogical activities further shaping its evolving performance language across generations of practitioners today.
