Rosarium Concert

Rosarium Concert is one of two productions within Beyn Theater Group's Prometheus project, alongside Promethe/Plague. It is a concert performance narrating the life of Christ, fusing selections from Franz Biber's Rosary Sonatas with Iranian and global folk music.

What does it mean to search for a kingdom that belongs to no earthly power?
Rosarium is a concert performance and the another production in Beyn Theatre Group's repertoire that is part of the broader Prometheus project, sitting alongside Promethe/Plague. While the two productions share the same overarching framework, Rosarium carries the project's questions about defiance, suffering, and the search for liberation into an entirely different register — turning from Greek tragedy toward the life of Christ, not as religious doctrine, but as a deeply human story of those who refuse to locate liberation in the possession of power, and who carry, with love, the weight of that refusal.
The performance is built from two interwoven streams of music: selections from Franz Biber's Rosary Sonatas for violin and harpsichord, and song collages drawn from Iranian and global folk traditions. Together, these two voices narrate a single story across two eras — past and present — tracing the arc of a quest that has never truly ended. The barefoot man from Nazareth who entered Jerusalem riding a donkey, surrounded by the blind newly sighted, the dead newly risen, and the outcast newly welcomed, proclaimed a kingdom not of empire or restoration, but of children. A kingdom, in other words, of radical openness.
Here, the group's long-held preoccupation with musicality and otherness finds perhaps its most concentrated expression — distilled into the meeting point between Baroque violin and ancient folk song, between a story two thousand years old and the urgency of the present moment. Rosarium is a meditation on those who, in every era, have sought a time and space free from violence and deceit. It is a performance about carrying one's cross. About the enduring human longing for peace. And about the strange, persistent belief that another world is possible.
